RECEPTIONIST
If you love cats and people this is the position for you!

 

If you are seeking a challenging yet rewarding career within a veterinarian industry this position is right for you.  Our clinic specializes in felines and a love of cats is a definite prerequisite.  This position will offer you many opportunities to learn about feline medicine, nutrition and behaviour just to name a few.  While the successful candidate will be primarily focused in an administrative role, additional tasks may be required such as restraining animals, preparing medications, assisting with x-rays.  Full training will be provided on these tasks however past experience in these areas would be considered an asset.

 

Job Summary The primary role of the Receptionist is to support a professional and welcoming environment by greeting clients, directing telephone and client inquiries, following admission procedures for patients and performing clerical duties.
Experience

The minimum qualifications required to obtain an interview for this position are as follows:

Minimum 2 years experience in an administration role.
Previous experience dealing directly with the public.
Previous sales experience
Previous switchboard experience
The ability to prioritize and multitask
Available Monday – Saturday (40 hours per week)
High school diploma or higher
Criminal Record Check
Commited to long term employment

Computer Experience:
Windows based network environment
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Use of e-mail programs
Previous experience with one industry specific software program not produced for the general public (Veterinarian or non veterinarian)

Job Specifications

The position of Receptionist does not require specific formal education; however, formal training through various certificate programs is encouraged.
Secretarial / Office Administration Certificate or minimum 2 year previous office experience
Must be able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Will be required to take long distance veterinary receptionist course

Animal Health Technologist

We are seeking a friendly, team-oriented and self motivated individual for our hospital. Love of cats is a must! We are a busy 3 doctor practice with 2 full time AHT positions, 2 tech assistant, part-time and full time receptionists and two kennel workers. We are a progressive, feline exclusive AAHA approved practice. We pride ourselves on excellent service to our clients and a warm, friendly atmosphere. We are equipped with 2 gas anesthesia machines (isofluorane and sevofluorane), Apalert, blood pressure and pulse oximeter monitors and ultrasound machine. We have 5 intravenous fluid pumps and have surgical/medical, isolation and boarding wards. We have an ultrasonic scaler, dental x-ray machine and dental table.
Job Summary The primary role of the Animal Health Technologist is to provide quality patient care by assisting the Veterinarian and staff of the clinic. Working under the direct supervision of the Veterinarian, the Veterinary Technologist is responsible for ensuring patients and their owners are provided with optimum care and efficiency.

Job Specification Completion of Animal Health Technology studies
Knowledgeable in medications, surgery, radiology and general patient care

Job Summary The primary role of the Office Manager is complete administration of the clinic. The Office Manager ensures that in coordination with the Veterinarian, Owners and staff, the clinic provides quality patient care and favourable work conditions; while maintaining profitability and adhering to all applicable industry and government rules and regulations.
Experience Experience in a feline practice is preferred but not required. Experience with veterinary or medical office management, accounting software (Simply Accounting) and payroll is an asset but not a requirement. Experience with handling staff issues such as scheduling, vacation, incentives and evaluations/interviews is desirable.
Job Specification Minimum 2 years experience in a veterinary clinic setting
Post secondary or relative experience in office management and accounting procedures

Experience Previous experience working with animals or in a veterinary clinic is preferred but not required. Customer service experience is an asset, candidates must be comfortable speaking to clients when admitting or discharging boarding cats. Candidates must be free of all cat allergies. .
